Kathleen M. Smith

Kathleen is an associate at Douglas Law and counsels clients on all aspects of dissolution of marriage proceedings, both pre and post decree. Kathleen received her Bachelor's degree from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago. At Loyola, Kathleen was a licensed student attorney with the Loyola Community Law Center and focused her work on family law issues. Prior to joining Douglas Law, Kathleen was an associate at a boutique family law firm in Lake County.

Kathleen believes in a client-centric approach to family law matters and that the best interests of the family should always be put first. She brings a calm and reasonable approach to high-conflict situations and knows that each case requires a unique strategy and plan for execution. Kathleen focuses her work on not only guiding a client through the process, but empowering him or her to move forward confidently following resolution of the matter.
